Acceptance of things is beneficial

Moreover, expressing gratitude for having to deal with a health issue may force you to pay attention to what your body is communicating and start eating healthier foods or increase the amount of exercise you do. As a result, you may live longer and be happier. After you express gratitude, a weight is lifted and the way you see and respond to any challenge may shift completely. Rather than feeling defeated by a difficult situation, realise that every circumstance provides an opportunity to improve your life. It has been said the higher level of mastery you call forth, the greater your challenges. When you’re mentally resisting what has happened you feed that memory with more energy. You make what someone said or did even bigger and more powerful in your mind than it really is. By accepting what happened and not pushing it away, things start to shift. Your memory of the situation starts to fade. You don’t feel as upset or angry as you did before. You become less emotionally attached to it. Being distracted or worried by things that you cannot control is a waste of energy.

what you want. It is wise (but challenging) to be grateful for every circumstance, no matter how imperfect you imagine it to be. In fact, most spiritual traditions teach that gratitude is a key to health and happiness. For instance, as hard as it is to express gratitude for the difficult time you are having with a co-worker, the situation gives you an opportunity to overcome some fear, to creatively repair the disharmony or to resolve a festering conflict. In other words, do what is in your best interest.
